Maria Teresa Cruz is an Associate Professor in the Communication Sciences Department of NOVA University of Lisbon. She teaches in the fields of Image Theory, Contemporary Art and Culture and Media Aesthetics, and coordinates the doctoral strand on Contemporary Culture and New Technologies. She is also the coordinator of the Research Group on Culture, Mediation and Arts at NOVA Institute of Communication. She founded Interact – Journal of Art, Culture and Technology in 2001 which she directed until 2006. Her research focuses on digital cultural, cognitive ecologies, cultural techniques and creative industries. Books: A Modernidade Estética.
